With this sudden and now extended cold weather period across , what seems to be most of the northern hemisphere from North America to China , it does raise a question or two.

I have often pondered the same question. however , by talking to various people about it i pretty much got the answer i was half expecting.

Do not confuse Radio Scotland as a BBC Local it is a National station with a TSA of 5000000. The entire Commercial system has been assimilated by the Borg.

These listening figures are very surprising for sure given the negative predictions although i agree that RAJAR cannot be taken as gospel by a long way.

I am definately a great supporter of the BBC , despite being a life long supporter of commercial , and of course pirate and offshore radio as well.

I really do not think that a talk format is viable in the UK apart from football and some cricket commentary.
