I'm happy with XP. It's installed on all three machines at home. One of the PCs dual boots with Linspire (not a bad Linux). Another PC dual boots with Xandros 3 (not bad either).

Have you looked at vmware ? There's a vmware client for mos OS's so you can run windows in linux, linux in windows (and it works with ubuntu) etc etc. Free and it works.

Although small, the Asus EEE is easy to see. It will stream audio happily to your amp. You could add a dongle, and listen on the move. Some of these notebooks have XP added.

It will need to be good to beat many of the offers around now which for buisness radio includes support. Good software only costs US$200-ish and with support it's a bargain.

Re listening to streaming radio on the mac ... forget using itunes, get vlc – it's a very nice cross platform audio (and video) player and works well on macs as well as pcs www.
