Why are there still so many landbased FM pirate radio stations these days? Around London alone there are too many to count.

Funnily enough yes, the FM coverage is quite good here, I can get all the Kent, Essex, London and some Surrey Stations with just extending my rod.

I do think that all these dreary elderly tribute stations – "Caroline", "Big L", and the ludicrous notion that there is something piratical about a BBC outside broadcast cheapen...

Part of its popularity is that it is trying to recreating the sounds of the offshore radio era. It is okay for a week, or maybe two, but after awhile the "novelty" will wear off...
