I'm not so sure that technology take-up by young or old is the problem here. Usually, technology solutions are years ahead of the development of applications which make the technology meaningful.

 I think you're missing my point. It's not a question of accepting or not accepting it's the user's fault for being conned.

I've just been watching Electric Dreams on BBC2. Basically, over a 30 day period, a family lives with the technology of the time from 1970 up to 2000.

It is unlikely to take off as it they are just using new versions of old technology. It hasn't caught on in the past, why should now be any different?
