This just in to me from The Orcadian Earlier this year it looked like Orkney would have two new radio stations to choose from now it seems that listeners may be lucky if they have one to tune into.

Mr Paul Rusling has written to me in response to my comment that "the Communicator was a death trap before it was purchased by MMI".

Hello Mike Barraclough. Have you photos of this breaking up of the "m.v. Communicator"? So that all of us can see that indeed the "m.v. Communicator" is be scrapping now.

This bit of audio has winged its way down from BBC Radio Scotland's Orkney output.

But all of you can now easily see on the next photo that the "m.v. Communicator" now is being scrapping!

Just returned from Orkney where, sadly, I can report that the breaking up of this ship is proceeding and the chances of anyone saving her now is about zero. Added by Nigel on 01 August 2007.

Hello Mike Barraclough. On a Dutch spoken forum I have just read in a messsage of today, Wednesday, that this schip is not yet scrapped.
