I would argue the "heyday" of offshore radio was 1964 – 1967, maybe March 1968. I accept there was RNI and Laser 558, but I don't think they had quite the impact of the original stations.

I was an anorak before 1964, going through phases of train, bus and plane spotting. Radio has been my most enduring activity, followed by County Cricket and non-league football.

Well I agree with you in principle, but I think from Laser Mr C Wolfe has made a recognisable contribution to UK radio (and of course Randall Lee was around on Big L if that counts).

I'm here to be corrected of course, but wasn't Tony Allen or maybe Andy Archer a serial exposer on the ships at sea, usually when an unsuspecting DJ was mid 'link'...?
