I've been compiling some playlists using crossfading on WMP. Does anyone
know how I can burn Cds/DVDs using this facility (It doesn't seem to be
covered in WMP "Help")

Not sure about WMP, but you can burn CD's with crossfading using Mixmeister. Load your playlist into Mixmeister using standard mixing (not beat mixing as I presume it is not a funky house mix ;-) Go to the top of the page click on file then scroll down to Create CD recordable.
