I like it, but it seems slower and a bit more clunky than Chrome. But, you are right in that people who like/use Chrome will like/use IE9. In my case I returned from playing with IE9 to using Chrome by default as it is more compatible with my extensive use of Google and other 'cloud computing' products, I think.
I appreciate your complaints about it, but really I think it's down to what you ("one") are used to and so it does mean change for those who use a browser in a particular, and I don't mean this patronisingly, 'older' way.
Sometimes things move in a direction we don't like. I recall never getting on with mice, both because I'm left handed and I was extremely good with a track-ball. However, although I still get to use a track-ball on specialist applications on certain machines, I gave in and now use a mouse (with my left hand) without a second thought for normal PCs. Funny though, watching right handers try to use my computer with the mouse to the left of the keyboard. Also interestingly, the last two places I've worked have been dominated by lefties, which completely throws righties trying use our PCs. None of us change the configuration of the mouse buttons or anything, we just have the mouse on the left, and righties just can't use it.
