I thought it was originally 1946/48, or at least that was when it was first on 78. The 78s must be worth a fortune if they are still around. The song was used not hugely long ago on a tv advert for Cellnet (now O2) in the 1990s, so was it re-released then?
I've never understood this book owning thing, though. I have nothing. A couple of manuals, how-to books, Yellow Pages, and that's it. Not even porn books.
