I agree with him. My Twitter usage is restricted to news and information feeds, say from the BBC, etc. As in, using Twitter as a quick converter of RSS feeds into free texts.

I used to 'follow' quite a few of the more notable radio movers and shakers until I realised that all they ever keep telling everybody is how much they drink beer. Boring.

The place that's really kicking off as being 'conversational' in the micro-blogging world is www.plurk.com – the heaviest user on there is a women in her 60s who is a knitting anorak. Lots of ladies talking about diets and cooking, and notably most folk are not kids, and there are most of the movers and shakers in the Web 2.0 world.

Here's a brilliant one for somebody here who's bored to stick a poll about pirate radio onto. Anybody? Sign up to www.ask500people.com – you pose a question, and people vote on your options for the answers. Maybe somebody should do a Caroline versus Big L question.

And finally, for fun, here's a free service www.dial2do.com -which is brilliant. Basically, once it's set up, you call a London number from your mobile. You record a text message using your voice, a voice recognition system translates your voice into actual text and then sends it to whoever. Saves all that fiddling around with buttons trying to type it out. Funny results for some words though!

See? I come here bearing presents and toys for boys to try out.

Oh, and to complete the circle of this conversation, you can even use dial2do to update Twitter!
