Well, as predicted the programme concentrated on Radio Frequency, a "drum and bass" pirate station from Leeds, with some footage devoted to Radio Caroline and Tony Blackburn, archive material which I've seen before. However, it was really good to see some Radio 270 footage that I've not seen before, together with a short interview with 270's MD, Wilf Proudfoot.

Once again, though, it was irritating to have one or two inacccuracies and sloppy research spoiling what was otherwise an interesting programme. The two errors that stood out for me were when the commentator told us, how in the wake of the Marine Offences Act, "Radio Caroline moved its ship to Dutch waters, but financial problems sunk its output a year later". Just the one ship was it, then? And, as for the Dutch move, I must have missed that one in 1967! Obviously the flower power "summer of love" had a greater toll on me than I'd thought.

As Chris has said before, it's this sort of sloppy journalism that gets presented as fact, and, no doubt, will get quoted as such in times to come.... sigh.
