which would be fine if it were not for the fact that Caroline in the 1980's was utter shite. Serves as a reminder to me of why I don't listen to this type of radio any more and haven't done for some tim "Hey DJ"! Keep spinning that wax. Play me two in a row and drop in that little jingle up to the vocals. Ughh, I may not be at sea but pass me the bucket I think I am going to vomit.

Oscar to be honest I was really thrilled when Caroline came back on air in Aug 1983, blasting out a great signal from the knock deep. As we got into mid 1984 Laser was doing the business, Caroline was a poor second place. They had a variety of formats (I was still glad they were there by the way) that Jamming 963 with all that awful reggae stuff that no one had ever heard of, some of the jingles were positively Radio 2 or even ILR sounding. My particular favourite broadcasts from Caroline in the 80s was Caroline Overdrive, and Caroline 819 "The Overnight Alternative", some great music and some pleasantly weird presenters or jocks whatever you want to call them. For all of Carolines imperfections, she is still sadly missed by radio listeners all over Europe, and i'm one of them. You can't live in the past and wallow in sorrow at it's demise, you remember the good times, everything has it's season.
