Quoting a previous Neil Gates contribution:-

Why did you and Peter go aboad? Did you arrive at the Communicator
whilst travelling back from the Ross on the dutch tender Poolster?

Yes, I think it was the Poolster, but I merge the boats in my memory and can't remember which one they were using in '89.

Well, it's a strange story, but they were trying to keep us below so we wouldn't know where we were or why we were stopping. We were actually in quite a dangerous situation for one reason or another, especially as it was probably obvious that Chicago would be behind stopping any attempt to remove stuff from the Ross (Hadn't he got you and others to try to clone all the 819 jingles and music so that the Ross could carry on broadcasting a 'spoiler' service when the Dutch jumped to the Communicator?).

Anyway, people had been drinking very heavily and there were guns being waved around and anger and what appeared to be a split in the ranks about their opinions of Chicago. For some this would be a good time to deal with Chicago to get him out of the way, that sort of thing.

However, completely brilliantly, he managed to talk the talk unphased and ended up talking through some technical problem they were having. They then felt a little safer with him, and so the Communicator was boarded by us and he fixed something, then sat down and was able to draw out his recommendation for something else and when we finally left the Communicator the scary tension had all been defused and he'd successfully sold himself as a double agent, saving his (and my) life!
