Yes this is true. It was a few months before the raid, and it was in
the control of the gents who used to do the Bellatrix run and was being
made ready for the Dutch guys on the Ross to transfer their radio
station over to. I think we can safely say that had the raid not have
happened when it did, which ended up freezing everything in time, it
would have only been a matter of weeks before the Dutch would have fled
the Ross and restarted operations (including the short-wave) on the
Communicator.

Now here's a thought. Although Caroline would have been crippled
without the Dutch paying for everything and doing all the real supply
runs, what if the Dutch had moved to the Communicator some months
earlier than they planned? Would the authorities have left the Ross
alone but raided the Communicator instead?

 I think that the answer to your question Chris is yes.

I had a long conversation with the dutch official in charge onboad the Ross during the raid and when I told him that we would put Caroline back on air he said to me:quote "I DONT DOUBT THAT BUT AS LONG AS YOU DONT BROADCAST PROGRAMMES IN DUTCH WE WON'T BE INTERESTED" .
