Well Chris i live about 4 miles away from Pontop Pike the local TV & Radio and loads of other users TX site. On my tv's upstairs i just use one of those cheapo things from the £1 shop, it's a circular antenna with a V telescopic pair too. If you live in a really built up area with loads of bricks and mortar close by, you'll probs get ghosting from reflected RF. If there's traffic close by, that will interfere with ya signal too. I think you can buy hi gain antennas to be used as a set top, but some shops display "digital TV Antenas", an antenna can't distinguish between analogue or digital, it's just receiving a signal, thats all.
