Quoting a previous Sterling Times contribution:-

I notice on the boards the plastering of notices in this style:

"I know what's going on at Big L, but I'm not at liberty to tell you."

Why the hell do people bother?

It you are honouring a confidentiality arrangement then keep quite. If
you have something to say then say it.

Anoraks love to say they know something you don't know. Sometimes they do know stuff, true. But if I'd told an anorak something in confidence and he started the 'I know something you don't know' game, I'd never tell him anything else. Anyway it would quickly get round to everybody that he could not be trusted 'cos they'd all see his 'I know something you don't know' too.

Indeed, I might start feeding him complete rubbish so's he made an arse of himself.

Anyway, that all said, did I mention that I know something that you don't know?

Anybody wanna hear what I know about the Isle of Man and 279 kHz Long Wave?

No?

No?

Sigh.

Ok then.

* Christopher England just said that *
