It's fine remembering skinheads with fondness.

When was at school the sole purpose of the skinhead's existence was to "kick Pakis".

This is well illustrated by the  playground song:

 "One skinhead two skinheads three skinheads four,

If you see a Paki kick him on the floor,

Kick him in the bollocks,

Kick him in the head,

Put him in an ambulance,

And laugh when he's dead.

Ha ha ha etc."

Boots were worn for the purpose of kicking.  

Nice people skinheads! And they were not too choosy about what constituted a "Paki".

I believe that later in history, skinheads became associated with the British National Party.

Their love for reggae was, I always thought, rather strange for white supremacists.
