Sorry John, perhaps that was a bit harsh mate. I must admit that I do harbour some sour grapes – after allegedly helping to run pirate rock music stations here for the last 28 years I watched the applications for the Liverpool licence with some interest and was truly horrified when it was awarded to City instead of one of the rock stations which might have finally given Merseyside at least some musical choice apart from lcd pop/dance.

Steve,

I was more than surprised when City Talk was awarded the Liverpool FM Licence, but then again personally I feel rock gets enough radio with such as XFM, Arrow, Virgin etc – I would like to have seen a Soul station like Solar or Grove, but we can't always get what we want.

The City Talk line up may be coming in for some knocks, with personalities but lets give them a chance, I look forward to Trisha with her background before TV and I feel Simon O'Brien can make a good talk/chat show host. As I said earlier it just has to be right this time!!
