Why? ... for introducing a fresh topic that's what!!!

I always wondered why the English speaking Chinese  had American accents until I starting using Skype.

I had dozens of people call me asking if they could develop their English by writing and using the mic. They explained that the PROPER way of speaking and spelling English was very much in the vogue and the "have a nice day" brigade were considered to be of a lower educational level.

Learning Cantonese is worse however ... when I got married in China I said hello to a guest as I shook his hand. That's what I THOUGHT .... actually I was saying "vegetable" !!!
