It would be interesting to get to the bottom of what's actually going on
with all this Isle of Man malarkey. It's very difficult to dig properly
when you've got this little clique of badly burned 'shareholders' and
their mates trying to stifle free debate and discussion, whilst putting
round false rumours and hope for their dream project.

Commenting on rumours is like pouring petrol on a fire. I resigned as a director of IMIB at the turn of the year as I felt the project was becalmed due to the intransigence of some colleagues, in that they wouldn't accept a plan to get the station operational, but wanted to retain controil within a group who had no media expertise. New Investors all said they wanted radio people running the show. So we had a stalemate. The 'blockers' inside IMIB said they would fund the project to launch and do it themselves, so, as i couldn't see it going further and had other things to go and do, I disappeared off 'elsewhere' – which is what Im still doing. Ive given them six months now to do something, and if nothing else happens soon maybe I will come back in with the new investors. But the deal is a straight "get rid of the blocklers, and have real radio people run it". Lets face it, this is the first mega international station with a full proper licence , and one that can legally broadcast from a ship or an offshore installation. If it wants to. That is valuable. I am not so sure about it bein g 'dead in the water' – I think becalmed is a better description. There are about 140 shareholders, about 8 of those are 'anoraks' .
Hope that clears some of the mud.
Paul
