Maybe it's a celebration of the affliction, ney, lifestyle choice of the nose colour. After all, we do have Black History Month, International Women's Day, Islamic Awareness Week, a Mother's Day, a Father's Day, etc., etc., and I'm told each is a 'celebration'.

I'm pretty sure (although I may be wrong) that today is, for example, not set aside for the bullying, ridicule and humiliation of anybody who happens to be a mother.
