Radio Luxembourg recently stopped using 7295 kHz for its experimental
DRM English service to the UK – this should free up the transmission
facility of 7295 KHz and IOMIB could
approach RTL with view to leasing the airtime over this channel.BTW – does anyone have a link to the transmission facility of 7295 Khz
and
details of the transmitter and antenna apparatus.
RTL was hiring T-Systems Germany transmitters at Nauen, later IIRC switched to Werchatal, for the 7295 service. Reception in the UK was unreliable and there were technical problems in the transmission chain as well. They would have been better off using a higher frequency daytime from a more distant site, such as Moosbrun, Austria which they could have hired from VT Communications as Christian Voice is doing.
Their own DRM transmitters are shown at the link below, there is no spare shortwave capacity as they are being used for the French and German services: http://www.drmradio.co.uk/html/junglinster.html
