Re: Tablet computers

I find that I have everything on the Google Apps 'cloud' at work. For some reason at home I tend to use Thunderbird for email as well as Google.

Microsoft proudly announced to the world in general a few years ago - at least 4 , that tablet computers with touch screens were going to replaced the laptop/notebook computer. It never happened.

Re: Mobile internet

I've used this on my Nokia N95, and yes it is a very good browser. The N95 browser is ok for most things but Opera certainly has the edge and does make the most of the small screen.

Mobile internet

Following on from my discussion thread about Google Chrome , i got thinking about mobile internet - for mobile phones and smartphones.

All the browsers spy on you, unless you deselect the spying mode. Firefox spies on you even if you deselect the spying mode. It's part of the terms and conditions!

Re: Google Chrome web browser

We tend to use Chrome because it is so 'light' and everything we do is in the 'cloud' so we have no need for add-ons or extensions, really.

Thanks roger roger. That sorts that one as well now.I now hame a home tab. I don't get why things that are present by default in IE and FF are not in Chrome.

Also when your cursor goes over a link, or when you have clicked on a link, you would expect the link address to be shown at the bottom of the screen.

Re: Google Chrome web browser

Iv'e just noticed something else blindingly obvious is missing - there's no home page icon or tab. I take it there's an add on to put one in somewhere. will research further !

Re: Google Chrome web browser

I have found a work around for the text size issue. Found an add on extension called Zoom lock which enables you to set the percentage of zoom applied to all pages.

Re: Google Chrome web browser

I have tried Chrome thro its various up dates. On my system it is slower than FF. I dislike the way it looks - too basic Most of all I do not want Google spying on me
