How can you be banned. It's a totally anonymous board. You could go on as Hieronimous Bosch and no one would know.
And no, Anorak Nation won't ban anyone .....unless they try bullying
and intimidation.
Welcome back – where you been ?

Who really is the FREAK here??? Who really cares what you think about this stuff at the end of the day . If the Ross was handed to you (blue sky mode!!) – do you seriously think that you could do a better job?

Neil i am a bit perplexed as to why you are saying that, As you can see from this thread on the GS board it appears not to be true!!
http://members7.boardhost.com/PirateRadio/msg/1246607629.html
Why do we cluster music into decades?
A decade is a long time in music.
Recorded music prior to 1925 was Hellishly dull. Listen to SCTEK radio to get a flavour of it.
I love 1925 - 1935. Music was comical and lively.
First there were silly songs ...
Crazy words, crazy tune,
All that I ever hear him croon is
Vo do de o, vo doe doe de o, doe--doe doe doe.
Sits around, all night long
Sings the same words to every song
Vo do de o, vo doe doe de o, doe.
His ukulele, daily
How he'll strum!
Bum bum bum!
Vampin' and stampin'
Then he'll holler, 'Black bottom!'
Crazy words, crazy tune,
He'll be driving me crazy soon
Vo do de o, vo doe doe de o, doe.
And then there were naughty songs ...
We're all alone, no chaperone
Can get our number
The world's in slumber--let's misbehave!!!
There's something wild about you child
That's so contagious
Let's be outrageous--let's misbehave!!!
I'm not so keen on the 40s or 50.
In the 1960s and early seventies music came alive again!
Then music again started to become serious.
I suppose that I like the silly music decades.

It's strange how the idea of what is acceptable changes. Many of the old songs would never be released, if they were written today. Often "innuendo" was too weak a word for what they were singing about.
I'm thinking of stuff like "Ooh, what a whopper, I've never seen one as big as that before", and "My Girl's Pussy". There were plenty of others, too.
There was no "parental guidance" label then, either.

Neil,
May I suggest you leave these notice boards alone for a while. Your reputation in Anorak circles has been shot to bits. The Offshore project you failed to deliver has inevitably handed your critics a stick to hit you with. May I suggest you either find a new project to put your efforts into, forget the Offshore stuff as the world has moved on. The only appetite for Offshore Radio comes from the limited Anoraks on these boards and is not worth wasting £30000 and probably considerable more on proving an unwinnable argument.
As for your determination to be a thorn in the side to Peter Moore and his version of Caroline, I see no point in this as all you are doing is upsetting a few hundred anoraks that want access to the last piece of floating Offshore Radio history, why don't you allow the Ross to have some dignity in her retirement like the Belfast and if a few ageing hippies and squatters want to pass their spare time on doing up a rusty boat then so be it.
This is friendly advice from some one who does not know you, but can see no reason for seeing somebody who is negatively wasting their life time on the planet,
Steve
Glad to hear that earlier reports that Neil might have been the victim of a lynch mob were untrue. Glad to see your alive and well. Sad to hear that the personal verbal attacks seem to be following you around though. Would be nice if we could just talk about Radio , broadcasting ,media and gadgets in general which is the passion of most of the people on this forum.

I think that pretty much covers it.
Here on Anorak Nation we are a jolly genteel bunch, who raise their pinkies while drinking tea. We're not used to aggression, preferring instead more civilized discussion as our way of dealing with differing interests. If you, or your entourage can't accept that, then may I suggest that you PISS OFF, and leave us in peace ?

Therefore Macs are more real computers than windows boxes.
Hang on just a second. Look, son. I sit in an air conditioned room. Oh yes, I'm sitting in an air conditioned room. Therefore I am a real computer. QED. Erm....

That's not the point. The question is, when you are sitting in your air conditioned room, being a real computer, are you an Apple or a Window ?

Not sure why or how the above prompted such a thought, but it did.
We're anoraks, right? We love freebies, right?
So how's about this, what is your favourite anoraky freeware and why? Now keep it clean boys and girls.
I dunno why, cos I could do it other ways, but I leave Screen Grab Pro on my tool bar as it's so useful when you need a quite grab of something (oooo clean Eric).
Twirl, to help with the various tweets, cos it's just easy to have.
And I like the slightly anoraky Oxelon Media Convertors so I can watch stuff easily on any old mobile – even though I have proper paid for software I leave Oxelon on the tool bar cos it's just so simple for a quicky (damn done it again).

I very much endorse this and the comments from Steve.
And so here's an idea. We bang on about free spirit radio, extended choice, non-300 track playlists and more. So where do the gentle folks of AN find there fix on the afore mentioned entertainment and WHY is it so riveting?

In great defence of Garry Stevens, I don't think he will have banned you. The moderators of any boards on the internet these days have a constant uphill battle to try to keep them 'open' and yet deal with those who want to bully and make personal attacks.
Very sadly, Garry's board keeps being overrun by the haters who seem to think that they must make personal slurs or remarks rather than enter into actual debate or discussion about 'things' rather than people. I know that Garry spends a lot of time trimming threads and trying to chop out all the bad bits. Garry is a good guy, not a censor, and as long as posters keep to the simple rules of being nice to each other then there's no problem. On a good day his board is a pleasure to read with many interesting contributions (some boring ones too, but that's true of anywhere!) for a wide range of anoraks with a wide range of experiences. Part of the attraction of Garry's board is that it is 'open' with no requirement to register and log-in (well, let's face it most old anoraks can only just about use a keyboard so expecting them to log-in somewhere is far too much! :-) ).
However, there are obsessives who seem to feel that they have to resort to the name calling and bullying. These are on both sides of the Radio Caroline fence, so it's not all just one way, although by far the most cruel are the Caroline obsessives. One reason for disrupting a thread is of course in order to close it so that the public don't get to read facts that are maybe unsavoury and could bring organisations into question or under the microscope. That's why as soon as anybody dares mention certain truths about Radio Caroline, out come the aggressive (or in some cases derisive) postings in order to disrupt the discussion and to distract from the facts of any actual points being made. It's a bit like daring to question the Scientologists even slightly. Immediately they make it personal and viciously attack the individual asking the questions.
Sadly, these obsessives can very quickly overrun Garry's board until he has time to try to calm things down. So, don't blame Garry, he's not on a 'side', he's just trying to deal with thugs in a playground. He's doing his best, like any moderators dealing with these increasingly bitter and twisted posters.
If you have a static ip address and he's really banned it, talk to him directly. He's not the enemy!

You still got (limited though they are anyway on this fine Jigluhood malarkey) moderator powers? If so, what say we ban anybody using Apple products? Oh, no, not to worry, they won't have found a browser capable of seeing websites properly.
Hee Hee hee. See what I did? A little Windows joke there.
