Truly astonishing stuff. Wish I had the kit for that sort of stuff.
I once managed a Dutch or Flemish station with a tiny FM scan radio that uses your headphone wire as an antenna, it was between Radio 2 (89.7Mhz) and Radio 3 (91.9Mhz). I only got it for 5 minutes,a jingle came saying 'This is Spain Air'. So you dont neccaserily need expensive gear to DX, although a signal booster and an amplified aerial with 'gain' help. I have a long wire coming off my radio, round the room a few times, and then up into the loft.

Just checked 531khz again for carrier / test tones – still nothing – surprised ? No. But we still have one more day !

Re: Digital BritainThere's been some astonishing FM DX logged in the
past few
weeks. There's a thread on DS where it looks like a guy in NI has
logged an
FM station in Alabama

"If this turns out to be correct- and its looking very possible the
distance
would be an outrageous 4011 miles / 6456 km ( This would have to be
four
hops)"
Truly astonishing stuff. Wish I had the kit for that sort of stuff.

WHAT TIME DOES BIG L RETURN TO 1395Khz TOMMORROW?
crusin 531 – I thought it was just the MW TESTS starting tommorrow, not the station opening. So they wouldnt be testing now, when theyre not starting tests till tommorrow.

Continuing on the DX kick, in the same DS thread (http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?p=33401002#post33401002), a Southend viewer reports their Freeview TV set doing a rescan overnight and adding in 10 French radio and TV stations. Unfortunately, not much chance of this in sunny Manchester!;-)

Does this have talking in between, or just music music music? It says non-stop, so that made me think. How long will this stream go on for?

Hello Mouse Mouse. This is a non-stop stream and will lasts for at least about a whole week. Greetings of Nico from Gouda, the Netherlands.
Hi everyone
This is something I've been looking for fo months. Does anyone know of any pirate radio stations I migt be able to get in North Norfolk? I'm about 14 miles north of Norwich. Also, any I could get in Rutland when I go up there for a couple of days in August.

Dig deep into your mind for this one...!
I voted for the Blackberry, because of the push email, but I'd much rather have an early push email one, rather than the latest one. Tin cans and string is very good too, but to use as musical istuments, not for communication. Maybe the pirates could use tin cans and string for a link? seriously.

Many UK dance land based pirates have their own full blown websites
that relay (or are relayed by) one or more FM signals.
The website is normally the provider of the stream that is then picked up by the link equipment and relayed on FM. And a lot of the pirates no longer mention the frequency making it hard for Ofcom to prove in court that the station has any connection with the FM broadcasts. A bit like Caroline Mattress who never openly talk about their various AM and FM relays.
Keep the faith :-)
Cruel. But fair. :)

There's no such thing as global warming. It's a big con made up by people who want money and funding to make up more rubbish about ... global warming.
One quick way out of this economic slump would be to sack everybody in the 'environment' industry.
