Certainly a move of the 50 Kw Nautel transmitter from it’s present
position at Trintelhaven to Belgium for use on 540 kHz, would greatly
improve signal coverage into the UK market.

My final conclusion is now that BigL after some time will resume its
transmissons but now from a transmitter in Belgium on the 540 kHz, or on
the 1188 kHz, or on the 1512 kHz AM!

One suspects that BigL's financial difficulties may lie more behind the silence on AM although I sincerely hope not. A return to AM would be most welcome now there is very little on there for alternative radio/ rock fans/ old anoraks like me. France Bleu (Isle De France 864Khz) is now my music station of choice- France Bleu for f*ck's sake!

1188 would be hopeless around here as it's too close to 1197 used here in East Anglia by ''Virgin – one song for every 15 minutes of ads – Radio'' (Cambridge). If Big L do return, and get the 540, I hope they do something about the modulation – the Belgians always sounded like they were whispering on there to me.
