What are the on-air hours – is it 24/7 over the broadcast period or
day time only because I lost the web stream late night UK time
(early morning Au time).
I still have no web stream – (using Quicktime player).

Not sure what the hours are but I logged on to the stream last night just after 10pm UK time and they did a close-down announcement and the stream cut off. I was listening with wmp and it caused it to freeze up. I guess they will be off for a few hours overnights and back at 7am or maybe earlier.
They seemed to be spinning lots of wax and saying very little when I tried it earlier in the day. Sorry but I just don't see the point in that. I'll probably dip in a little later and give it another try.

I am not 100% sure this year but last year they were only on 7am-7pm.

Yes, I heard the closedown also, does seem a bit strange they don't keep the web stream going with continuous music until going live again.
There doesn't seem to be any programme schedule on the RS website although there is a list of programme presenters on Bob Le-Roi's site, http://www.bobleroi.co.uk/ScrapBook/RedSandsRadio_9/RedSandsRadio_9b.html

It's a great shame about the dreadful programmes from Redsand.
I switched it off when it became just too annoying.
However, I can see from here that the format is getting the general seal of approval.
Hi I've just arrived home it's 22:41 hrs in Melbourne Au
and I have Redsands bouncing out the iMac here in the lounge.
Mind you, I might watch a movie or telly shortly and relax a bit after a full on day at St Kilda Road.
Hi Sterls,
When it's all said and done it's just some guys playing a bunch of records throwing in the odd jingle and a selection of sponsorship ads and Ka'Bang you've got it. The programming isn't the key thing here – dare I admit it .. it's the way that it's done that makes it interesting, and I like the way they've done it ,, very eccentric and that's fine by me.

I'll be honest here, this sort of thing isn't really my cup of tea normally, but I'm quite enjoying it and don't really know why.

I quite like it so far, but I'm flicking in and out as I'm tuning into the WNKR boys too.

This year 0700–2200 BST.However yesterday evening 1900–2200 the station seemed to experience a SEVERE programming technical problem which resulted in this listener tuning out.Can anybody enlighten me as to who/what that was all about? I, at first, thought that compassion was required, as maybe this person or persons were suffering from a severe degenerative disease, something akin to the late Stuart Henry. However the more I attempted to listen the more I became convinced that this person/persons just should not have been allowed anywhere near a live radio studio. They treated me,to switch off execution, with the worst ,most atrocious, hideous, awful, disgusting, introverted, radio presentation that I have EVER heard.
I need to know who/what it was. This was a historic broadcast for me… Bob; I'm shocked that you would ever…

I didn't hear it so don't really know what happened but I'm sure it was supposed to be some guy called Printz on at that time ex Radio City 299 if that helps.

Me too Steve – it's such a non-sensical approach to radio that it's kind of wild.
I mean, to the regular folk out there it must seem a little un-usual having a bunch of guys doing up an old rusty M.O.D. relic that looks like something out of War Of The Worlds positioned somewhere off the south eastern coastline of Britain and putting up a whopping antenna pole and a 1 watt transmitter for a 10 day broadcast.
It could seem a little over the top – but hey, that's what makes it facinating – it's good to see people live out their wildest fantasies and not get stuck in the usual grind.
Hey they've achieved more than Longwave 279 even if it is QRP !!
Hi Jim and all the rest of the A N gang, I cannot receive Red Sands Radio, probably because it's an RSL and using 1 pappy watt of RF, i know the sea is a brilliant groundplane for antennas, but 1 watt up to here in Newcastle, well thats being a little too optimistic. Could any of you's who have listened to it for any length of time say what it's like? I applaud all the efforts they have put into it, but if the programming was an original format, the power was decent, and it had something different to offer I would agree, honestly i can't see the point of a 28 day licence on 1 watt.

I'm focusing on the ones that do come here with nothing claiming asylum, then wanting this country to cower to all their needs. These are the minority that are being nurtured by our very own Government.
The "government" doesn't need to govern anymore because that's the job of the EU. It's a free-for-all for forty states. "Border control" is another illusion created by New Labour. Compared with EU and non-EU immigration, the numbers of asylum seekers pale into insignificance.
There's going to be real trouble when employment reduces and those who were earning queue for handouts to which they will be entitled.
Hallo everyone. There are (strong) rumours that the "Norderney" goes to … PORTUGAL! Although the Dutch Norderney-assurance yet has to give its approval for "towing" this schip over Sea and the (mostly stormy) Bay of Biscay. ...and read also this:

Been listening to the stream for almost an hour. A bit of distortion as it is a touch overmodulated (the stream, not the AM).
Flippin' heck! He's a sleepy, snoozy dude whoever is on there now, not sure who because he hasn't said in all that time. Some great hero from the offshore days perhaps but needs a couple of pints of Red Bull if you ask me. Stop Press… He has just said he is John Aston.
They are only on for 10 days not 28 so need to get cracking if they have anything stimulating to transmit to us.
Oscar, I'm listening to the "live" stream now, this guy John Aston is indeed laid back, he's on about sat navs at the mo, well at least it a bit "different". I still think climbing up a rusty old hulk and sticking a great big TX antenna up all for the sake of 1 watt is a little insane, unless off course they've borrowed a TX from caroline or the laser ship and are using 10KW, then indeed they would be pirates wouldn't they, and not insane at all, just insane anoraks like all of us.
