I'm not ashamed to be a minor Doctor Who anorak
It is one of the few TV programmes that I will make a point of watching. This library episode and the gas mask one were written by the same guy (Steven Moffat ??) who wrote the weeping angel statues one (don't blink) which was another very creative and scary one. Did I not hear the other day that Russell T. Davies has now left the team? Sorry if I have got that wrong.
Do you turn over to channel 3 later on for Pushing Daisies? The series has ended now apparently, even though they left out episode 2 completely.
Turned up on the Play Radio talk show earlier this evening (in the studio) talking about Big Brother though PRUK were saying that he is their station engineer.
Strange because very recently Talk 107 in Edinburgh were saying that Eugene was THEIR engineer. Maybe he is the engineer on lots of stations.
In the episode of Monk on BBC 2 last Saturday afternoon. I wonder if it was written by Fat Steve from Atlanta who is a regular caller to UK talk radio shows and who is known to have written past episodes of Monk.
Often portrayal of radio on TV shows and in films is poor and inaccurate but this one was not too bad. I am not really giving away the plot since Monk (rather like Columbo always was) is not so much a who dun it as a how dun it.
Last time i met him HE said he was working for the BBC at PQ in Glasgow

Poor guy.
P.S. Is it true the legendary Chicago is in town to deliver a master class ?

EUREKA – if that is really happening radio has a chance

not this one. In other words, as far as the media is concerned this
never happened. They don't know anything about it. Such is the
regularity of these events, unless a person actually dies you just
don't hear about it. It's no longer news.
Says a lot of the level of journalism or that which they think will attract an audience, which is 10 times worse.

They actually listen to radio? The content I mean!

I've just fallen on my chair. "forgetting the world has moved on 25 years or more!", on AN – you'll have your DF twig snapped at dawn.

loves to hate him but he is more popular than ever.He doesn't care what people think though, does he?
Actually I think he thinks a great deal. He thinks what will the vast majority of people be interested in and then gives it to them, good thinking me thinks

Virgin itself holds the
copyright over the brand name 'Caroline' and could license thenew group
to use the 'C' word name.
Does it? I didn't know that.
Yes, Mr Moore only holds the right to use the phrase "Radio
Caroline" as long as the C word is pre-fixed by the R word, under a
rider required by the Virgin group.
Hate to burst your bubble, but investigate how names are issued by regulators and how the decision is made.
I was once contacted by the RA because, as you know, we used RNI. When A N Other wanted to use the same I was approached for approval as the first holder of such a license. Even though said license had expired, in our RNI case.

I find Dr Who as laughable as I did when
John Purtwee was innit _ innitNooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo! This current series is well nang.
And the whole set of recent serieseseseses completely knocks the
spots off the old scenery shaking ones of the last millennium. It's
the same with the Star Trek The Next Generation series. It was
wonderful, and made the Original Series look like something badly
made from decades before.
Totally agree, but there was something warm and cuddly about guessing how many time the walls would wobble during Crossroads.
And there will be HUGE AMOUNTS, read the full story about Talent Costs at the BBC http://www.bbc.co.uk/bbctrust/news/press_releases/2008/talent_costs.html
BTW, the report is there as well

if you do know who the real owner is you are not prepared
to say,Absolutely. That's the position that I and others who post here and
elsewhere will always take, have always taken (and should always take).
It is not for me to give out to the public what is in fact another
person's off-the-record private business (more so if they have asked me
not to), in exactly the same way that I wouldn't expect my private
affairs to be liberally distributed without my consent either. I know
there are anoraks out there who are quite mad and quite dangerous. They
love nothing more than trying to dig into people's past and to expose
them in a nasty way that can possibly put them or their family in
danger. They love to try to goad others to spill the beans, but I
believe that when the owner of the Ross Revenge wishes to step forward,
they'll step forward. Let it be their choice.Purely a guess on my part but the only
way the Ross would be of any value would be if there were plans to use
it as a base for a legitimate project like the 279 thing,There are a lot more stable transmitter platforms out there I would have
thought. Does anybody still believe the whole Isle of Man 279 thing?
Surely the thickest of anoraks must have sussed the truth by now.At the moment i am also looking into a possible link between Radio
Monique and the Communicator but that will be a subject for another
thread.Did I ever tell of the time when I thought Peter Chicago and I were
going to be shot on the Communicator after we'd accidentally sussed
something? Sigh. Happy days.

Chris can you confirm that the Communicator was in the North sea in 1989 and that you and Peter Chicago went aboard her?

Maybe so, however, Virgin still has rights over the Caroline name. 'Caroline' is a Virgin trademark, whilst 'Radio Caroline' is not, which was my original point.

Yes, that's outrageous too. They should know that proper anoraks never listen to the content unless it's a test tone.

No, I've missed out on that. Will probably catch up via DVDVDVD as Nick would say.
