I'll try and make contact with the gentleman concerned and see
if I can get the dilly on what's going down. He's a hard man to track
down though. Never has a mobile, rarely gives out a landline beyond his
UK one, and often replies whilst on his yacht complaining about his slow
satellite data connection. So, we'll see what he says.
Cheers it would be interesting to know.

Perhaps the Christopher England show if yer still in the vicinity of Merseyland?
I found this on the Reciva listing. It's really quite good but in Dutch, and it actually has DJs.
It's interesting how the Dutch have adopted apostrophes (-: The announcement on air sounds far more like Old Man's Radio. Of course, number one on the play list is Man of Action.
So, what do old men listen to?
Here's the answer:
| De platen die gedraaid worden in dit uur. | ||
| song | performed | |
| 1 | Man of Action | The les reed orchetra |
| 2 | Morning girl | Shaun Cassidy |
| 3 | What difference does it make | Earth & Fire |
| 4 | Together again | Emmylou Harris |
| 5 | Tu t'en vas | Alain Barriere Noëlle Cordier |
| 6 | The alternative way | Anita Meijer |
| 7 | Fernado | Abba |
| 8 | Hey mal yo! | Jonhny & Orquestra Rodrigues |
| 9 | Save your kisses for me | Brotherhood of man |
| 10 | Salvation stomp | Donavan |
| 11 | Dinge-Dong | Teach in |
| 12 | December 1963 (Oh what a night) | The four seasens |
| 13 | Standing on the insite | Full House |
| 14 | Calypso | John Denver |
| 15 | All a round my hat | Steleye span |
| 16 | Sweet love | Ferrari |

I'm not allowed out this weekend. My mum said I mustn't go out and play with pirates or she'll not cook me a Sunday dinner.
But hey, another time, very soon maybe. But I don't really do music radio that well. Please write on here the exact address of the studio, plus the names of all the people who will be there. If I wanted to catch, erm, I meant, meet all of you, when would be a good day and time to turn up? :)
On a different matter is there something going on between you and Richard (Sharpe)? See, it does seem very strange that the two of you are up so early, and his post this morning and yours were timed 28 seconds apart. Some might say it's just a co-incidence, but I'm wondering if you've kidnapped poor Richard and put him on site duties. (Only kidding of course)

From information posted on the Chris Cary board, It is now on Youtube uploaded by Greg Parke,
Mrs and Master Sterlingtimes willingly voted for this pirate anthem from Latvia.
It's a really crappy Europop song, but 100 times more catchy than anything else on the show. I love it.

Yes it was my favourite too Master Sterling, although Mrs Gloworm576 (we're on different wavelengths- geddit?!) didn't let me vote. I dimly recall a discussion about the song on here a while back. I also liked the Spanish Jimmy Hill lookalike and thought the UK effort not bad either. Shame we've got no chance of winning it again.
I see Wogan's threatening not to present it again due to the predictable voting patterns. It used to be funny predicting the Germany/ Turkey full marks thing – same goes for the Greece/Cyprus, Spain/Portugal and Balkan as well as Scandinavian love-ins but it's getting a bit dull now. Maybe they should just have judges and no phone voting?

Also interesting to note that Poland got 14 points – 10 from Ireland and 4 from the UK.
