Not sure about that, didn't it go bust when owned by Ray, before these new guys
took over with a new operating company?

It's a bit like Trigger's broom – It's had a new head and a new handle over the years but it's still the same old broom. From what I gather/recall – the money ran out quite quickly into the venture, hence the AM transmitter going off. 2 of my cheques bounced during my time there (I've still got the letters from the bank telling me so).

Despite it's poor quality, it's a shame that DAB seems to be going down the toilet – if they (Big L) were on a more level playing-field in terms of distribution, they may be able to pull in some more revenue. As for AM, they've really got to run more power and put a better signal into the South East – If there was a supa-dupa signal pounding in day&night then perhaps there would be more interest. A half-arsed signal that's subject to fading and the 7'o clock curfew to boot isn't going to help matters.

They're paying good money on an AM transmitter, they're leasing RCS' products for playout+scheduling (you can't buy it, it's a rolling subscribtion), and they're (supposedly) paying some known names for shows – It all costs money, where's it coming from ?!

Perhaps it's time for Mike Read to start busking on the sea front ;)

Didn't only a dozen or so people turn up the last time he did that?
