because of all this abuse!

And a top tip for those using, or registering, mobiles is make sure you do the time settings.

Heh heh heh. Something I learned a long time ago is to put it on silent when I go to bed!!
Anyway, have you seen the front page of Anorak Nation? It automatically shows anything that RTI has twittered. Cool, eh?

Nowt, that's what.
It's a conspiracy, see.
As it was one of the North London pirates, and had no connections to or
with those South London ones, it doesn't have the folk 'keeping it
alive' that those South London pirates have.Indeed, most of the 70s/80s North London pirates are 'written out' of
the chronicles that appear from time to time, including the excellent
videos made about the era. Yet, when you consider the numbers that used
to respond to them, they definitely had their audiences.

I think it's more likely to be the case that nobody's been arsed to put anything on the net about it. The pirates that I grew up listening to in West Yorkshire - PCR, Jive FM, Curfew FM, Rapid FM, Emergency FM, WKLR, Wacky FM, Unique FM etc are woefully underrepresented on this internet thing. Some of these stations were very popular at the time but nobody's bothered to write down their memories (either as a listener, DJ or owner). You find the odd recording here and there but nothing much.
By the way, I have found an old tape of PCR from probably around 1988-1989 with a number of DJs on which I intend to MP3 as soon as I can be bothered. I'll post it somewhere when I get round to it.

This was certainly the case with the Mersey Pirates until recently, but now a couple of sites have appeared.

I've seen quite a few about the stations around Merseyside. Of course there's www.conceptnews.org which has been there quite a while and contains histories of quite a few stations and www.zee100.co.uk with some fantastic audio - including 2 raids.
If you want an idea of what Radio AMY really sounded like, here are some extracts of a programme called "The Topical Thing" broadcast in January 1979. It's eerie that the jokey "news" about the Caroline ship sinking, turned out to be a reality just over a year later.
Longer, higher quality extracts of the same broadcast will be online soon.
