I write "stuff" and even get paid for it. Watch this space or any good WH Smiths!

This is a question mainly for Oscar as he seems to have the contacts.
Do Kristel AM plan to do any broadcasts this year? I think I'm right in saying they haven't been heard since late 2005.

Like Graham I've been a tad busy and no time for anoraking – although I confess to slowing down a bit whilst listening to Bob Sinclair on R1 last week – what a show, outstanding!!!!!

Is it because everybody's content with radio these days, and there
are no new gadgets to excitedly talk about?
Maybe not new gadgets, but I've been having fun with a Skype/DECT phone, nice toy and on special in a well known store. Like the new Panasonic mini-DVD handy-cam as well – look out for some stuff on youtube soon :-).
And here's a top tip – some likkle oiks wanted a kings ransom for a pair of fans for an old Acer Notebook. If that wasn't bad enough I was then told that fitting new ones was a real mare – so having talked nicely to Mr Acer, he told me how to modify the plastic housing of the fan casing meaning that in about five mins you can fit a pair of new fans.
End result the notebook no longer screams – the PROCESSOR is over heating, well it would have done the old fans were bust.
The replacement fans cost under £5.
Using the recovery disk and oodles of Windows updates, the dead notebook now works like a charm and that model has great audio, much better than some of the newer notebooks.
Another tip – I got a USB2 external DVD burner/drive for £35 quid. That is now being used with a Tosh notebook that had a dead, out of warranty, DVD drive. Works like a dream and now being used to burn loads of DVDs, no not that variety of DVD either.

Hi Steve,
The last time I heard anything from them was about 2 months ago and at that time they were saying that they intend to be on in late April.
I like the site, but I have visited less during the past few weeks since there has been an increasing tendency to post invented stories. Other Anorak boards have followed suit.
At first, this was amusing. But the joke is wearing thin.
It's a shame because there is some useful material here.

Ah good, it will be nice to have them back.

I have been offline for a while due to moving home and i come back to find stuff that i can only describe as SPAM on AN, Is this the way forward now or is there a hacker lurking and things are not being moderated properly?

RIGA – There's no use denying it. For whatever reason, the British seem to have a strange fascination with Riga. Tourists flock to the Old Town in droves, so much so that on any given Saturday night one can hear almost as much English as Latvian echoing through the winding cobblestone lanes.
And now English has been elevated to a new status in the city as a recent radio phenomenon has lifted it off the streets and onto the local airwaves. Pipeline Radio, a UK based AM radio station, has started broadcasting a weekly program in Riga.
Going out on Sundays from 8 to 10 p.m. at 945Khz (find it around the middle of the AM dial), the English-hosted show plays mostly indie and classic rock, but has a wide enough variety of music to please most listeners. In the April 1 show, for example, one could hear Tracy Chapman, followed by a Finnish punk band, and then a song from Van Halen.

While talking of such things I suppose I'd better take the opportunity to say that we will be on on 1476 from Friday thru to Monday with 9 hours of new programs plus some different presenters. (I'd better say it now as AN is bound to be off line for roadworks at w/e!) There's also a good chance that we may be on 5825Khz over the same period. Streams will be running as usual, info at ,
