Hopefully I've got it sorted now, I couldn't listen last week. Now I've
disabled the mp3PRO plug-in it should work!<
You are probably better off just dumping mp3Pro altogether Steve. I think you'll find now that the majority of online music stations opt for 'aacp', its compression achieves high quality at the lowest of bitrates saving tons of bandwidth. Having mp3Pro installed just gets in the way if you're trying to listen to an 'aacp' stream, it's pretty much a redundant format now anyway.

Thought Shaun Tilley sounded very good, these new presenters may well
give the station the boost it needs. They appear to be doing a good job
at mixing 60/70s music with more recent tracks.I think he is a really good presenter, which is probably why he was employed
on EMAP's top stations over the last few years. He was doing really well at
City until his erm… lets call it domestic dispute. I liked his Retro Chart
Show on the Magic Network. I'm told he is a real music anorak and if you
give him a date he can tell you what was number 1! ANORAK!
Why was my earlier message deleted? Have I been gagged or what? Christopher did I upset your sensitive nature? I thought your request on BigL was very thoughtful.

CORRECTION
Before Chris gets on his Sunday high horse and says "Who's been sending in stuff to BigL in my name?" let me say the following:
I sent an e-mail to Shaun saying he was playing some good stuff and saying "Hi" to CE and all at AN.
Shaun got it wrong and attributed the e-mail to CE. Now depending on what side of the bed CE got out of he would either have been quite pleased or quite put out wouldn't he?
Therefore I sent another e-mail that Shaun did read out to put the record straight.
I shouldn't have needed to do this but, there we go eh?
Life's great if ya don't weaken innit?

IF your message is deleted it wasn't deleted by me. It's more likely to have disappeared by accident or is lost among the mystery that is the archiving of messages. What did it say?

Well, I hate oldies. I hate old songs. I hate most of the old artists. I hate the modernly released stuff that is sound-alike to oldies. I hate really old people who for some reason are still alive and wobbling out new songs just because they were once famous and could sing or write songs in an exciting new way, but now have to live off their past.
And I mainly hate them all because I've heard them all before. A million bloody times. Over and over and over. The same bloody ones. Never ending. Over and over and over.
So, with that in mind, why would I be listening to Big L? I don't listen to oldies stations unless I'm strapped down inside a Saw III stylee contraption that would rip my head, arms and legs off if I dared tune the radio to something else.
(Phew! I must write that on www.lumpit.com some time!)

Yes, OK, I went to www.lumpit.com and a bit of a laugh it was. Now to return to the current exchange of vital information could I ask you Chris what you actually like to listen to on radio.
Being one who thinks Xmas is a load of bollocks I nonetheless am willing to contribute to a pressie for you as a thank you for just, you know, being you!!
Your preferences would be interesting (including your favoured libation)
Graham
Whereas I like oldies, but I also like new music too.
But why on earth listen to a radio station for a
limited range of oldies when I can programme my own
listening? To hear the drivel spouted between the
tunes by the likes of Mike Reid or "Kid" Jenson (is he
still on?)? No thanks.
The only music radio station I bother with at the
moment is Rainbow on 0207.

It seems you have a problem with this current forum setup Chris, 2 out of 3 have now vanished today. I wouldn't mind but they were of great cultural value.

Chris has stated (on several occasions), that he's quite partial to a bit of Radio 1, in particular – Annie Mac (who is actually rather enjoyable to listen to). IIRC, he's also been known to rate Zane Lowe.
How did I score, Chris ?

Seems as if you have a lot of pent up anger and frustration stored Chris, I would suggest that you unwind and relax by listening to some music, all these talk stations are doing you no good at all.
I was awoken to an excellent programme on BigL by Shaun Tilley playing great music from 70/80/90s with nice short but good links, this was interupted by a request from Christopher England to all his AN users. My initial reaction was this to be a hideous nightmare and I reached for the valium, it appears that Graham may have sent a message which was mis-read.
Actually your are missing an excellent programme Chris, with much music being played from your era. Take a listen.

Chris what you actually like to listen to on radio.
Well, for example, yesterday evening I was actually tuned to FM (shock horror) listening to Lady Destiny (as in www.ladydestiny.com innit) doing some live emceeeeeing on Freeze FM (a pirate – more info www.freezefm.co.uk I think) which I really enjoyed. I tried to listen to a jam session on Resonance FM (not a pirate – www.resonancefm.com tells yer more), but got bored with it. I then listened to most of Nick Abbot on LBC, which I also really enjoyed. However, I needed to concentrate on something that words were distracting me from so I then switched to one of my 'playlist personalities' on Last FM (more info at www.last.fm I suspect) which is geared towards chilled playlists and I listened to 'Recommended Radio' via Last FM for a long long time, and enjoyed it too.
So, does this all help reveal my darker side?

If you mean 'libation' as the actual wine itself, then I have to say I never touch alcohol drinking wise. If you mean 'libation' as in the act of worshipping at my feet or offering me a sacrifice (importantly not offering me AS a sacrifice!), then I care more about the naked nubile laydies doing the act, rather than the wine they use. :-)

Are you looking in the right place for them? Mailspaces doesn't react like a standard forum you know. It keeps threads in the order they were started not the order somebody last contributed to them. (I think this will change in a few weeks).

I hope this doesn't turn out to be my second response - the first disappeared I think.
Now, Christopher, I would never have suggested you had a "darker side" - I am sure the colouring is natural and even and that rumours of a syrup are just a load of sugar.
Your radio taste is disappointingly normal which is a shame as we would surely liked to have taken a poke at you (if you'll pardon the expression).
My own preferences would be for a good dose of Moody Blues and BJH, together with the strains of Streisand singing the orgasmic "Hideaway".
Something stirring like "Rule Britannia" sung by the Arsenal crowd would go down well as would something to make me think like Nimrod from the Enigma Variations.
I suppose some "music to cut your throat by" (i.e. Mahler as featured in Educating Rita) would tell me how bad things can get. I would also be reminded of narrow escapes (being twice divorced). First wife died of mushroom poisoning and the second of a broken neck (she wouldn't eat the mushrroms) so any film featuring a near death experience would end my day.
The night would begin with one of your naked ladies (or she would have to be in that state of undress by breakfast).
My libation WAS McMullens Country Bitter with my respiration assisted by 20 B&H ... since my life is now Music, orange juice, no fags and nursing young anorexics I suppose I could be described as a miserable old bastard.
Regards
Graham
